Some Senate Democrats are concerned that the White House and Republican lawmakers will try to rush Eugene Scalia’s confirmation as labor secretary without allowing adequate time to review his extensive background of high-powered corporate representation.

Sen. Patty Murray (D-Wash.), the ranking member of the committee responsible for vetting and holding a confirmation hearing for labor nominations, recently turned down an offer to meet with Scalia, according to a Democratic committee aide.
