Trump DOL Places Overtime Update on Regulatory Backburner

The US Labor Department listed an update to overtime pay eligibility on its “long term action” regulatory agenda, in a sign the Trump administration doesn’t plan to move on the rule quickly.

The DOL re-released its Spring 2025 regulatory agenda Thursday, after publishing and deleting it from the Office of Management and Budget website in August.

The decision to put updates to the so called “white collar” overtime exemption on the backburner comes as multiple lawsuits over a Biden-era overtime rule remain pending in federal court.
