Trump DOL Eyes Opinion Letters for Compliance Assistance Boost

The US Department of Labor is redoubling efforts to provide free legal advice to employers under a new opinion letter program launched at five of its enforcement subagencies.

The agency Monday unveiled a new webpage for employers to write and submit requests for opinion letters to the Wage and Hour Division, Occupational Safety and Health Administration, the Employee Benefits Security Administration, and the Veterans’ Employment and Training Service. The Mine Safety and Health Administration will provide compliance assistance through its own platform.
