A Department of Homeland Security proposal would raise costs for naturalization applications to as much as $1,330.
The proposal (RIN: 1615-AD08) released Monday comes as the Trump administration has made plans to strip certain naturalized immigrants of citizenship over alleged fraud in the immigration process. The agency said the fee increases are needed to cover the full cost of adjudicating applications.
