Trump Admin. Takes Military Transgender Ban to Supreme Court

The Justice Department asked the U.S. Supreme Court to review President Donald Trump’s ban on military service by transgender people Nov. 23.

The DOJ filed separate petitions for the high court to act on three injunctions by federal district courts in Washington state, California, and Washington, D.C. that put the ban on hold. The DOJ didn’t ask it to act on an injunction by a district court in Maryland because that court hasn’t yet ruled on the government’s pending motion to dissolve its own injunction, which the DOJ filed after the Trump administration revised an earlier version of the ban. ...
