TrueBlue, Inc. and PeopleReady, Inc., will pay $125,000 and provide equitable relief to resolve a federal disability discrimination lawsuit filed by the U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the agency said Thursday.
The companies fired an employee because of her psychiatric disability, according to the EEOC suit. The employee, who worked at the Manassas, Va., office of TrueBlue’s subsidiary, PeopleReady, wasn’t permitted to return to work after being medically cleared to do so following a hospitalization.
