A group of Louisiana-based trucking companies are asking a federal court to freeze the US Department of Labor’s new independent contractor rule before it goes into effect March 11.
In an emergency motion filed Thursday, Frisard’s Transportation LLC, the Louisiana Motor Transport Association Inc., and others, requested that the US District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana issue a temporary restraining order to delay the effective date of the rule.
