Truck Drivers Win Final Approval for $995,000 Wage-and-Hour Deal

Trius Trucking Inc. and California truck drivers who say it failed to pay minimum wage or provide required rest and meal breaks received final approval for their $995,000 settlement from a federal judge in the state.

The deal recovers an average of about $1,500 for each of the approximately 500 truck drivers in the class, after deductions for attorneys’ fees and other costs, the US District Court for the Eastern District of California said. None of the class members had opted out or objected to the deal as of early September, the drivers told the court.
