Treasury and IRS employees will be expected to return to the office full time starting March 10.
Friday’s guidance, issued in a memorandum posted on the National Treasury Employees Union’s website, applies to all Treasury and IRS employees—including those in the bargaining unit—within 50 miles of an office.
Agencies were given a roughly 30-day target deadline to fully comply with the Trump administration executive order bringing federal employees back into the office full time in late January. About 72% of IRS employees had some option for telework.
