Travel Nurses Land Class Status for Some Unpaid Overtime Claims

A group of travel nurses can pursue overtime claims as a class against staffing agency Fastaff LLC under the laws of California, New Jersey, and New York but not Oregon.

The wage laws of those three states all track the federal Fair Labor Standards Act in a way that allows common evidence to prove those claims, the US District Court for the District of Colorado said. However, Oregon’s overtime law isn’t as clear cut, so none of the workers’ allegations involving the state’s statutes merit class treatment, the Tuesday opinion said.
