Cornell University and New York Presbyterian/Queens subjected a neurologist who was transitioning from male to female to a hostile work environment, including repeated misgendering, and threatened to decrease her job duties, forcing her to quit, a new federal lawsuit alleges.
Dr. Mackenzie Lerario says she worked for both institutions.
She was an associate professor for the university at Weill Cornell Medical College who was on track for promotion to assistant professor in July 2021 after being hired by Weill in July 2015, Lerario says.
