Trans Worker Can Intervene in Bias Case After EEOC Backs Out

A transgender worker can intervene in the EEOC’s discrimination case filed on her behalf against an Illinois pig farm after the agency moved to permanently drop the suit in response to a Trump executive order, a federal judge said.

The worker’s bias claims could still fall short, but the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s “change of heart will not be one of those reasons,” the US District Court for the Southern District of Illinois said. The Thursday opinion also approved the EEOC’s bid to drop the case, but did so without prejudice rather than with prejudice as the agency requested. ...
