The union organizing Trader Joe’s Co. grocery stores has filed what is likely the first charge under the National Labor Relations Board’s new legal framework to prevent unfair labor practices from tainting union elections.
Trader Joe’s United asked the NLRB for an order Monday requiring the grocery chain to recognize and bargain with the union at a location in Manhattan. The union lost an election there on a tie vote in April.
