Trader Joe’s has been charged with running afoul of federal labor law by threatening to take away employees’ pay raises and flexible work schedules if they voted for union representation at a Louisville, Kentucky, store, according to a National Labor Relations Board complaint.
The grocery chain made the alleged threats ahead of a January 2023 election where employees voted 48-36 to join the Trader Joe’s United union, Tuesday’s complaint from the NLRB general counsel said.
