Top NLRB Lawyer Promises Hard-Charging Approach on Court Orders

The National Labor Relations Board’s top lawyer pledged to “aggressively” seek court orders to stop ongoing unfair labor practices while her office litigates the underlying cases before administrative law judges or the board.

Such injunctions can be crucial when there’s a threat that labor law violations will cause damage that the board can’t ultimately fix, General Counsel Jennifer Abruzzo said in a memo Thursday. Those situations include discharges during union organizing campaigns and serious violations during the lead up to an election, she said.
