Too Many Pages Costs U.S. Soccer in Bid to Toss Hope Solo Suit

The U.S. Soccer Federation’s motion to dismiss soccer star Hope Solo’s pay discrimination case was too lengthy to pass muster with the federal judge assigned to the case.

U.S. Soccer’s 23-page motion to dismiss surpasses Judge James Donato’s page limit for briefs in civil cases, according to a Dec. 24 docket entry.

Donato sits in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California. His standing order cuts opening briefs at 15 pages.
