TikTok Content Moderator Denied Class Status in Mental Harm Case

A TikTok Inc. content moderator who says the job caused workers psychological harm fell short of the requirements for class certification in a lawsuit against the company and parent ByteDance Inc., a federal judge said.

The plaintiff, who no longer works for the social media platform, doesn’t have standing to seek some of the relief outlined in his would-be class suit, the US District Court for the Northern District of California said. It’s also unclear whether some of the questions he poses could be answered on a classwide basis, the Tuesday order said.
