The long-stalled Equal Rights Amendment won’t get added to the U.S. Constitution without at least one court battle.
Three Republican state attorneys general from Alabama, Louisiana, and South Dakota sued in federal court to prevent the amendment’s addition to the constitution if and when Virginia becomes the 38th and final state needed to ratify the amendment, likely early next year.
The three states are asking a federal judge in Alabama to block the archivist of the U.S.,
