Thomson Reuters Settles Federal Pay Discrimination Claims

Thomson Reuters Corp. will pay $550,000 to settle U.S. Labor Department allegations that the multinational media conglomerate discriminated against more than 100 female, Black, and Hispanic workers, the agency announced Wednesday.

The department’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs found that Thomson Reuters paid the affected administrative, technical professional, and client specialist employees less than their counterparts who were male, White, or Asian. Those pay disparities violated the prohibition on employment discrimination by government contractors, the OFCCP claimed.
