Thermo Fisher Fails to Escape Ex-Employee’s Race Bias Suit

A Black former Thermo Fisher Scientific employee who said she was denied trainings because of her race and subjected to racist remarks from coworkers can proceed with her race discrimination and retaliation claims, a federal court in Virginia ruled.

Yolanda Caison and her counsel’s prompt correction of a signature deficiency in her complaint satisfies federal rules despite being filed past the deadline issued by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission, the US District Court for the Western District of Virginia ruled Monday.
