Thermo Fisher Beats Black Worker’s Race, Sex Discrimination Suit

Thermo Fisher Scientific Inc. defeated allegations that it fired a Black woman because of her race and sex, retaliated against her for speaking up about bias, and paid her less than male coworkers.

The ex-employee’s legal and factual arguments aren’t enough to get her claims in front of a jury, so the scientific equipment manufacturer is entitled to summary judgment, the US District Court for the District of Kansas said in a Thursday ruling.
