Texas Tech Settles Suit Over Firing of Women’s Basketball Coach

Texas Tech University has settled discrimination and retaliation claims by the school’s former women’s basketball coach who alleged her firing was based on bias against female coaches and part of a pattern of mistreatment of members of the gay and lesbian community.

The US District Court for the Northern District of Texas dismissed the suit Thursday on the motion of the parties. Counsel for plaintiff Marlene Stollings, Peter R. Ginsberg with Moskowitz & Book LLP, told Bloomberg Law that the parties reached a confidential settlement.
