Texas Sues Biden’s HHS Over New Nursing Home Staffing Rules

The state of Texas filed a lawsuit against the Biden administration challenging new regulations that would increase required staffing levels for nursing homes in the state.

The complaint, filed Wednesday in the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas by state Attorney General Ken Paxton, seeks to overturn a final rule issued by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services that imposes minimum staffing standards for nursing homes as a condition of receiving Medicare and Medicaid reimbursement.
