Texas Federal Judge Appears Skeptical of DOL’s New Overtime Rule

A Texas federal judge expressed doubts about the US Department of Labor’s defense of its new overtime rule, as he considered a request from the state of Texas to block the measure.

During a Monday hearing Judge Sean D. Jordan of the US District Court for the Eastern District of Texas questioned whether the agency should be able to use salary thresholds to screen out workers from an exemption to overtime pay requirements.
