Texas Christian University defeated a lawsuit alleging it fired an investigator in its equity office after she took leave to deal with what she described as mental health challenges stemming from her work.
The school is entitled to summary judgment on the worker’s Family and Medical Leave Act claims because she wasn’t actually entitled to FMLA leave, the US District Court for the Northern District of Texas said. The ex-investigator wasn’t incapacitated during her time off and never received inpatient care, the Thursday opinion said.
