The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is suing a Dallas barber and stylist college for failing to hire an applicant as a hair braider because she was pregnant, the agency announced Monday.
According to the EEOC, a pregnant woman applied for a hair braider position at Dallas Barber and Stylist College and performed a skills test with satisfactory results, but was informed that the company already had a pregnant employee and did not want two pregnant employees.
The case is EEOc v. Dallas Barber and Stylist College, N.D. Tex., No. 3:24-cv-02296, complaint 9/9/24.
