UMR Inc., a division of United Healthcare Services Inc., is misrepresenting the rates it negotiated with medical providers, according to a complaint filed in federal court by a Texas ear, nose, and throat doctor group.
Sugar Land ENT and Sleep Center sued UMR Inc., payment processor Zelis Healthcare LLC, and Highlands Residential Mortgage Ltd. in the US District Court for the Southern District of Texas on March 25, alleging the companies are falsely claiming they negotiated discounts on patient bills that are lower than actual rates in Highland’s employee health plan.
