Tether Names Devasini as Chairman, Hires New Finance Chief (1)

Tether Holdings SA, issuer of the biggest stablecoin cryptocurrency, said its longtime chief financial officer and controlling shareholder Giancarlo Devasini will transition into a new role as chairman of the firm.

In the new role, Devasini will focus on macroeconomic strategy and guide Tether as it advances digital-asset adoption, the company said in a statement on Monday. Devasini is the controlling shareholder in Tether, according to public filings.

The El Salvador-headquartered firm also appointed Simon McWilliams to replace Devasini as CFO, the statement said. McWilliams was formerly chief financial officer at investment firm LetterOne and most recently a senior ...
