Temple U. Worker Fired at 59 Due $900K for Age Bias, Retaliation

A former executive assistant for the dean of Temple University’s Department of Computer Information, who was fired at age 59, can keep the $850,000 a jury awarded her for age discrimination, retaliation, and a hostile work environment, a federal judge ruled.

Ruth Briggs also is entitled to an additional $60,670 in front pay for the mistreatment the jury found she experienced while working for Dean Jie Wu, the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania said Oct. 16.
