New Jersey employers will have to pay blue-collar and service-industry temp workers the same as their regular employees, under a new law signed by Gov. Phil Murphy (D).
The legislation (A1474) approved Monday by the governor creates a “bill of rights” for temporary workers in specific occupations, requiring employers and temp agencies to provide equal pay as well as give notice to workers about the location, type of work, pay amount, and other information for each job assignment.
