Teamsters Lose Bid for Arbitration of Employer’s Vaccine Mandate

An Illinois union lost its bid to force a pension fund management company into a second arbitration process over the fund’s Covid-19 vaccination requirements for employees, after a federal court said that type of arbitration isn’t mandated under their collective bargaining agreement.

Central States, Southeast and Southwest Areas Health and Welfare and Pension Funds requires all employees to be fully vaccinated in order to work in the office, and it provides paid time off for each shot.
