Teamsters Leader Predicts Push on Misclassification at Ports (1)

Teamsters President James P. Hoffa said he expects a strong push from the Biden administration to fight worker misclassification at sea ports, based on recent conversations with Labor Secretary Marty Walsh and his top deputy.

Hoffa said at a press conference Wednesday that he recently spoke to Walsh and Deputy Labor Secretary Julie Su about the issue and was encouraged by their response. While Hoffa didn’t discuss specific actions the DOL might take, he expressed confidence that the administration would act soon.
