The Teamsters union received court approval to assist in defending a California law expanding the state labor board’s jurisdiction, as it’s doing in a challenge to New York’s similar law.
The International Brotherhood of Teamsters will join California and its Public Employment Relations Board in defending the new law (AB 288) against the National Labor Relations Board. The NLRB sued to challenge the measure in October, alleging it’s preempted by federal labor law, in the US District Court for the Eastern District of California.
