Sysco Truck Drivers Settle Wage, Break Class Claims for $800,000

An $800,000 settlement between Sysco and a class of more than 230 California-based truck drivers who alleged wage and other claims received preliminary approval from a federal court in San Diego.

The deal, approved Dec. 2, will resolve the truck drivers’ claims that Sysco Corp. and Sysco San Diego Inc. violated California labor law by failing to pay all required wages and not providing duty-free rest breaks.

The $800,000 total settlement represents less than 20% of Sysco’s maximum liability exposure.
