Sysco Texas Locations Settle DOL Hiring Bias Probes for $275,000

Two Sysco Corp. establishments in Texas agreed to pay a combined $275,000 to end parallel investigations by the Department of Labor alleging hiring discrimination.

Sysco Central Texas Inc. and Sysco North Texas Inc. agreed to pay $154,00 and $121,000, respectively, to end probes from the DOL’s Office of Contract Compliance Programs, according to conciliation agreements made public Tuesday.

OFCCP is tasked with enforcing nondiscrimination statutes on federal contractors. The agency alleges that both locations of the wholesale food distributor discriminated against Black female candidates in favor of Hispanic male candidates.
