Sysco Settles Hiring Bias Claims Involving 238 Women (1)

Sysco Corp. companies will pay more than $182,000 to settle Labor Department allegations of hiring discrimination against female applicants at four locations, according to an Oct. 31 official statement.

The food service companies allegedly discriminated against 238 female applicants in Harrisburg, Pa., Jessup and Pocomoke City, Md., and Harrisonburg, Virginia, the statement said. The agency signed four individual settlements with the companies, Sysco Eastern Maryland LLC, Sysco Baltimore LLC, Sysco Central Pennsylvania LLC, and Sysco Virginia LLC.
