Supreme Court Urged to Reject GOP-Drawn Texas Voting Maps (1)

Opponents of a new Republican-drawn congressional map in Texas urged the US Supreme Court to reject the proposed district lines and called for next year’s midterm election to be conducted using the state’s existing map.

In several separate filings Monday, the voters and the rights groups that sued to challenge the proposal argued that the new maps were racially gerrymandered and shouldn’t be used in the next election.
