Supreme Court Declines Cases on Arbitration of Group PAGA Claims

The US Supreme Court rejected requests by Uber Technologies Inc. and Lyft Inc. to wade back into the intersection of federal arbitration law and a unique California measure that permits workers to sue in place of the state for alleged violations of employment law.

The justices on Monday let stand California appeals court rulings that sent the drivers’ individual Private Attorneys General Act claims to arbitration, while holding that the claims they brought on behalf of other drivers can be litigated.
