Supreme Court Asked to Revive GOP-Drawn Alabama Voting Map (2)

Alabama officials asked the US Supreme Court to reinstate a Republican-drawn voting map that would eliminate a majority-Black congressional district and give the GOP a likely pickup in the November midterms.

The emergency request in the long-running legal saga follows a lower court decision Tuesday rejecting the proposed map for the third time as the product of intentional discrimination against Black voters.
