Sun-Maid Faces Worker Suit Alleging Unpaid Wages, Missed Breaks

Dried fruit and raisin producer Sun-Maid faces allegations that it violated federal and state labor laws by shorting employees on minimum and overtime wages and forcing them to work through meal and rest breaks, in a lawsuit filed in federal court in California.

The proposed class and collective action was filed by Victor Velasquez, who worked for Sun-Maid from September 2016 to March 2020, on behalf of similarly situated employees under the Fair Labor Standards Act and California law.
