Sun Chemical Sued for Failure to Correct Racial Discrimination

Sun Chemical Corp. faces a race discrimination and retaliation lawsuit after allegedly failing to correct a racially hostile work environment at its Kansas City, Mo., facility, according to the EEOC Friday.

An employee at the ink and pressroom products manufacturer allegedly experienced verbal and physical harassment from a co-worker because of his race, including verbal and physical harassment with profanity in the lunchroom. The co-worker then allegedly followed the employee into the locker room, slammed his hand into the locker next to the employee, and called him the N-word, the agency said.
