Student-Workers Can Pursue Claims Over Alleged Sex Harassment

Five female George Washington University students can pursue some of their claims that they were sexually harassed while working for the university’s Institute for International Economic Policy office, a federal judge ruled.

Jane Does 1 through 5 identify supervisor Emerson Jones as their primary harasser, the U.S. District Court for the District of Columbia said March 27. Jones repeatedly bragged about his sexual exploits with female co-workers and otherwise engaged in misogynistic behavior, the women say. Those exploits include rape of at least two of the women after he had plied them with alcohol, they say.
