Strike Looming at Two Atlantic City Casinos After Workers Vote

About 1,000 union workers at two Atlantic City, New Jersey, casinos voted to strike if new contracts aren’t in place by July 30.

Members of Unite Here Local 54 at the Golden Nugget and the Resorts Casino Hotel set the strike date in a Tuesday vote, according to Bethany Holmes, a union spokeswoman.

The Golden Nugget is part Tilman Fertitta’s Landry’s Inc. empire. Resorts is owned by DGMB Casino LLC and managed by Connecticut’s Mohegan Gaming & Entertainment.
