The union representing Starbucks workers at nearly 300 locations urged the company’s investors to support a shareholder proposal calling for an independent audit of the company’s actual commitment to workers’ rights.
Starbucks Workers United sent a letter Friday asking investors to vote for the labor proposal at the company’s annual shareholder meeting on March 23. Starbucks’ aggressive anti-union campaign violates its promise to respect workers’ rights and does harm to the business, the union said.
