Starbucks Violated Labor Law in Connecticut, NLRB Judge Says

Starbucks Corp. committed unfair labor practices in response to union activity at a pair of stores in Connecticut, a National Labor Relations Board judge ruled.

The coffee chain committed most of the ULPs in the case at a store in Vernon, where workers elected Starbucks Workers United as their union in 2022. The company’s labor law violations included failing to bargain with the union, firing a barista for her organizing activities, and other coercive conduct, Administrative Law Judge Kimberly Sorg-Graves held Thursday.
