Starbucks Union Organizer to Testify Before US House Labor Panel

A Starbucks Corp. labor organizer as well as a former National Labor Relations Board chair are slated to testify before a US House committee next week on the topic of workplace unionization.

The Sept. 14 House Education and Labor Committee hearing will feature former NLRB chair Mark Gaston Pearce and Starbucks Workers United organizer Michelle Eisen, a key leader in the unionization push at the coffee chain.

The hearing comes as a recent Gallup poll found that public approval of labor unions this year hit its highest level since 1965.
