Starbucks’ Threats to Union Activist Violated Law, NLRB Says (1)

Starbucks Corp. illegally threatened a worker leading the union campaign at a Miami-area store with retribution for his organizing activities, the National Labor Relations Board ruled.

The NLRB on Wednesday affirmed an administrative law judge’s May 2023 decision holding that a manager violated federal labor law by threatening a union activist with retaliation for a media appearance by referencing the “Memphis Seven,” a group of Starbucks workers who were discharged after appearing in a local television news segment.
