Starbucks Corp. couldn’t escape a federal court order requiring it to rehire a group of union activists that the company fired after they appeared in a local TV news segment about their organizing effort in Memphis, Tenn.

A federal district judge had sufficient evidence to grant the National Labor Relations Board’s request for an injunction calling on Starbucks to reinstate the group known as the “Memphis Seven,” the US Court of Appeals for the Sixth Circuit ruled Tuesday.
