Starbucks Illegally Threatened Unionizing Staff, NLRB Rules (1)

Starbucks Corp. illegally threatened workers and told them it would fix their problems if they voted against unionizing, the National Labor Relations Board ruled.

The panel decision Wednesday uphheld a February ruling from Administrative Law Judge Michael Silverstein, who found that managers at a Starbucks cafe in Liverpool, N.Y., told workers they would lose their hours, pay, and benefits if they chose to unionize with Workers United.

Management also unlawfully interrogated and monitored employees during their unionization drive in January 2023, Silverstein said.
