Starbucks Illegally Fired 12 Union Organizers, Labor Judges Find

Starbucks Corp. must rehire 12 workers in New York and Colorado after two National Labor Relations Board judges found the company illegally fired them for their activities with the union.

NLRB Administrative Law Judge Robert Ringler held Tuesday that the global coffeehouse chain committed a slew of labor violations at 12 stores throughout Western New York, including some of the first cafes to unionize. Separately, ALJ Mara-Louise Anzalone ruled that Starbucks managers illegally fired two union organizers during representation elections in Denver and Colorado Springs, Colo., in 2022.
